| LA BREA TAR PIT CALIFORNIA---QUATERNARY TIME CONTAINS THOUSANDS OF FOSSIL BONES OF HAPLESS TRAPPED ANIMAL VICTIMS |

| TAR PIT The first edition of this kit was released in 1971, along with the Cave, Neanderthal Man, Cro-Magnon Man and Woman, the Flying Reptile, Allosaurus and the Saber Tooth Tiger. The Tar Pit is one of the key pieces in the Prehistoric scenes series, without which the large Dinosaurs cannot be linked to the models surrounding it. This is an excellent diorama, which can be enhanced by the addition of a second Saber toothed Tiger actually on the back of the Woolly Rhino (It seems one set of legs which comes with the Saber Tooth was for this very purpose). Along with the Jungle swamp this kit is unusual in having no moveable parts. |
